Every new piece of equipment, including heating systems, security alarms and access control that we put into our home now comes with its own controller, iPhone app or software. Rather than let this all get out of control, or worse, let it control us, Smart Home Technology sets out to streamline and integrate every system in the house into one intuitive and easy to use controller.

The beauty of our service is that the solutions we design come in many forms and price ranges, is easily scalable to your requirement and is future proofed. This means that we can deliver this control simply through a hand held remote, or an iPhone app, or through wall mounted touch screens, or a mixture of all of these. We also have the ability to tailor make the interfaces to be as complicated or simple as you require (or both!)

We have a Crestron system developed for our showroom which controls the whole building. There are several different controllers for this, but in essence it all boils down to the following touch screen.

In this case we have chosen three levels of complexity.

The first row are simple one touch scene presets programmed to execute a number of different commands at the push of a button – like setting up a movie by closing the blinds, dimming the lights, turning on the fire, ramping up the surround sound and putting on the bluray disk.

The second row accesses menus to control everyday items such as intercoms, cctv cameras, TVs and Audio, removing the need for separate remote controls.

The third row brings up occasional use options to control the more technical layers of the house, like your heating setup, security alarm system, AV amp settings and lighting and curtain settings.

Just imagine the possibilities;

• Lighting scenes integrated with automated curtains
• Distributed Audio systems (like Sonos) integrated with your TV
• CCTV and door access control accessible from the bath
• One touch whole home ‘on/off’ or occupancy simulation

So to maximise your investment in our lighting designs we offer a control-system design and advisory service that ensures an integrated approach to the lighting control systems and all your in- home technology needs.

The above possibilities are the most obvious, however there is no limit to the applications you can integrate into your lighting-control system: from heating and AV through to Garden irrigation and complete automation using motion and light sensors throughout the home.
