Nude Designs secure exclusive deal to revolutionise UK lighting market Nude Designs has secured an exclusive deal with world renowned US based Wendel Lighting, to provide the UK's architecture, interiors and art collector industry with the ultimate lighting solution.

For decades, Wendel Lighting has been the pioneering leaders of optical projector technology, with its ability to perfectly and precisely light objects such as paintings, sculptures, tapestries, and furnishings. Nude Designs has had great success using Wendel’s Framing Projector on recent projects in the US. They saw first hand how popular the system is and wish to maximise the opportunity with Wendell Lighting to plug a gap in the UK market.

Whether an architect, interior or lighting designer, private art collector, or a museum or gallery, the Wendel Framing Projector creates the right impact for that special piece.  Designed to be hidden and usually (although not exclusively) placed within a ceiling void close to the object, the aim is to be discreet – the very essence of what Nude Designs stands for. They believe that the focus should always be on the beautiful effects of the lighting – never on the light source itself.

The projector works by directing light through a series of optical lenses and then through a hand crafted confinement lens, specifically designed for every individual piece that is to be lit. It then leaves a tiny pin hole from where it is being concealed, perfectly lighting the object without touching any other surface.  The effect is beautiful and deceptive - almost like the object is being lit from within, bringing even the darkest objects to life.

The Wendel Framing Projector needs to be professionally installed by Nude Designs, who carefully select the amount and size of each optical lens depending on the object. The team then craft and slowly cut the confinement lens to precision, masking out any other surface around the object.
