Arts and Crafts inspired new Build

09.03.15

We recently re-visited this beautiful Arts and Crafts inspired new build, designed by architects Mitchell Evans in Godalming, nestled deep in the Surrey Hills with our brilliant photographer Luke.

Subtle Lighting illuminates objects d'art displayed throughout the house from the owners' extensive travels and is designed to draw the eye around each space by highlighting specific pieces or artwork. Each room has four mood settings easily accessible via wall switches or from a tablet or smart phone.

Nude Designs has also integrated the Audio Visual capabilities of the house enabling sources such as Apple / Sky / Blu-ray to be accessed from several different locations throughout the house without the need for unsightly cabling or equipment boxes in each room.

The lighting is controlled using a Lutron Homeworks QS system, interfaced through Control 4, which also centralizes the 4 zones of TV and Audio throughout the house and automates the Future Automation TV Lifts and Brackets which keep the TVs out of the way when not it use. In one room, the TV is cleverly hidden around a corner and only appears when switched on.
